An Update

I apologize for the many days that pass between posts on this blog. Here is a brief update...

The Hubers enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving this year with lots of fun, food and fellowship! We had the Carlson family from Illinois, the Parish family from California and the Elliot family from right here in San Antonio. We answered quiz questions, read the Thanksgiving story, sang, ate, danced, played volleyball and finished the day with a time of testimony to God's faithfulness in our lives. How blessed we are to be children of the King of kings and to be given so many unspeakable riches in Him! There is much to be thankful for this year!!!

Last week we had the opportunity to join several other families for dinner and a presentation of a new ministry that is being launched in the arena of foreign missions. Brad Voeller is pioneering a ministry that is beginning in South Korea but may possibly spread to other countries. His vision is to see entire families be involved in ministry as a unit. We are excited for Brad and pray that the Lord will prosper the work of his hands.

December is already here and with it the wondrous Christmas season. What a joy it has been to reflect once again on the sacrifices that our Saviour has made for us. Of course this reflection is to be done all year round but it is a joy to set a part a time specially for it. We have been very busy already with different things such as viewing the film, "It's a Wonderful Life" with friends, caroling and putting up decorations. No matter how much practice one gets at putting up Christmas decorations, it always presents new challenges every year...At least for me! For instance, I plugged in a string of lights to check if they worked properly before putting them on some garland. Amazingly every bulb worked and I busied myself with applying them to the garland. After I finished weaving them through and locating an extention cord to plug them in, Ahhhhh, only half the string worked!!! I started to get quite frustrated (it's a good thing no one else was in the room to see me loosing my testimony) when I realized that it's just a string of lights and a little time and in the course of the universe it really is not that significant of a problem.

Other than that, every thing seems to be running smoothly. Our Church will be celebrating our first baptism tomorrow. We are very excited to see the Lord working through our humble efforts to bring Him glory. May His Word always rule and reign above our own reasoning.

Now I must close with the best part of this post. Today we thanked the Lord for the fourteen years He has blessed our home with Anthony Richard. Though the day was a busy one and much work had to be done, Anthony didn't seem to mind that his birthday celebration wasn't all that festive. God has truly enriched our lives with Anthony. He as long been considered a sunshine and his smile gladens the heart of anyone and everyone who sees it. HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANTHONY and may God's richest blessing flow upon you as you continue to serve Him with your every breath.

That's it folks.
TTFN,
Nikkae for the family
