Growing up...

Yes, it happens, whether we like it or not. Time passes by quickly and often without warning. People and circumstances change leaving us often times bewildered and reeling as we adjust! I often find myself wishing I could "bottle up" a moment here or there and keep it forever. Yet though change can often bring an element of sadness it is also cause for rejoicing. Today is such a day in the Huber family. Our little Benjamin Robert isn't so very little anymore. Today he is 7 years old! This change is wonderful...because we have witnessed our little baby grow into quite a young man.

I remember clearly the day Benjamin was born, for it was the first birth I was given the opportunity to assist with. I had the privilege (with much coaching) to deliver Benjamin into the world...what an incredible experience! Dad and Mom were having difficulty finding a name for what everyone guessed would be a boy. Mom always says that she had no idea they would have so many sons! So, the "good name" list was running out. Sometimes however, God supplies some of His best at a time when we are in the greatest need. Benjamin's name means, "favored son of excellent worth". He is indeed a priceless young man and we are so thankful to God for placing him in our home.

I will close with some qualities that endear this young fella to our hearts.
Benjamin loves to learn and shows such diligence in his studies with Katherine.
He is very creative and has such a heart-melting smile :)
He is one of the world's best babysitters...as he willingly pulls the wagon of younger ones round and round the house.
He is soft spoken (which in our house is quite needed!) I appreciate his quiet spirit and willingness to wait his turn to give an opinion.

Benjamin, we love you and pray that God will mature you up in such a way that you will do great things for His kingdom! May you enjoy the Happiest of Birthdays today!
