Life is Spinning...

After you pick yourself up off the floor and recover from the shock of getting two posts from us in two days, I'll fill you in on some recent happenings.

Most of you read about the guy's trip to football camp and the girl's travels to VA. Well, that was only part of the "running" to and fro in the month of June. After only a day home, I headed out to the sunny state of California to spend time with the Parish family. My dear friend Sally who is very like a sister, celebrated her graduation from high school. I had the privilege of helping get ready for a beautifully delightful party in her honor. Many people came dressed in costume and we enjoyed some English Country Dancing! I was so impressed by how quick everyone learned :) While in CA, I attended the Rebelution conference. It was an amazing day of learning more about Christ and serving Him better. Alex and Brett Harris along with their father did an incredible job of encouraging and strengthening the hearts of the old and young alike in the audience. Some highlights of my time at the Parish home were, meeting Sally's new siblings (newly adopted), walking in the orange coves, singing hymns after dinner, meeting new friends, talks with Sally long into the wee hours of the morning and of course the party!...the list goes on and on. Thanks Parish's for an amazing week.

Before I arrived home, Brandon and Anthony headed once again to AL to work for our uncle. Katherine left shortly after to help out with our little cousins while our uncle recovered from back surgery. From the sounds of things, they all had a blast! From the delicious food they always get served, to the fun conversations around the table, swimming in the the hot tub or playing with the kids. Unfortunately since I had the camera in CA, we don't have any pictures of their trip :(

Independence Day rolled around while they were gone and I was getting pretty discouraged at the thought of not having plans for a party of any kind. With three members of our family gone and dad probably having to work, the party thing wasn't looking bright. Then a pleasant surprise came! We received an e-mail from the Clarks...or was it a "chat"? We joined a group of folks in Boerne to play games, practice our dancing, share a feast and head out to see the fireworks...in the rain!!! How fun :) What a blessing to share a holiday with fellow brothers and sisters in Christ! The fellowship was uplifting and...I didn't have to go through a holiday without a party! I'm including a couple of pictures of our "July 4th eve" fireworks in our yard too. Guess we were feeling really patriotic...two days of celebrating :)

Well, that catches us up a little. There is more to post but I wouldn't want to overload you all at once. Things are slowing down and finally getting back to normal. No more traveling in the works for a while. It's a blessing to take trips but in reality, there's no place like home! I learned that first hand last month :) Enjoy the pics!

    Hi Nikkae:
We had a good time...thanks for all your help. Peter Telian was able to get quite a bit of the graduation on video and, combined with what he got of the adoption, turned out to a nice little production. I am hoping to get a copy in the mail tomorrow.

    Mr. Parish

BTW...say hi to your good dad!
