Quick Update
Since our family blog writer is gone, we thought we had better get at least one update published as to not disappoint Nikkae too much. She might get the idea we can't survive without her--which is, of course, more true than not.
The week started off with a not so pleasant surprise. Nikkae's passport did not arrive in time so she and Brandon had to make a l-o-n-g trip to Houston to get it in hand. Praise the Lord they made it safely there and back home. She flew out early Tuesday morning and met up with her two fellow laborers in Atlanta and then arrived in the Dominican by about 3pm. She has said that she is keeping very busy with setting up the medical clinic. Please continue to keep her in your prayers. She has bites on her legs that the Dr. doesn't know what they are, and they seem to be getting infected. One leg is swollen from the bites (over 30 of them).
The next day we did a first without Nikkae. The family sang a Psalm together that we have put to music and Brandon and Anthony covered the background music by themselves for a civics class that hosted a District Attorney, a former Texas Congressman and a Congressional candidate for the 23rd district. The boys did a great job especially since I only gave them one day to get prepared! :) We are starting to feel the necessity for not leaning too heavily on Nikkae being as she may not be with us forever. She has done a great job working with all the family in the music arena!
Another highlight was getting the beautiful silk material for Katherine to make Kristalyn's junior bridesmaid dress and Kaylianna's little flower girl dress for Nathan and Rebecca's wedding.
The boys are busy lifting weights and getting ready for football. Rick is working hard providing for the family. Katherine is carrying quite an extra load with Nikkae gone. And of course there is always animals, gardening ( or should I say attempt to garden), cooking, cleaning, laundry, bathing, and cuddling!
Thursday night we celebrated Christian's 2nd birthday. His birthday was actually last Saturday but we just couldn't fit it in until later. He is growing so quickly and we enjoy him immensely! With Nikkae gone, Christian has moved in the boy's room. It has sure helped him to not be so lonely without her.
Aundra, our German Shepherd, just had 9 puppies yesterday and Anthony and Jonathan spent an hour of their day helping a neighbor round up an ornery bull. The rest of the day was spent in preparation for the Lord's Day and for being gone all day Sat.
Today we had a wonderful time of fun and fellowship celebrating David Prislovsky's 12th birthday at their beautiful ranch. The fathers and sons had a competitive game of capture the flag while the older daughters took a hike (walk) around the ranch and the mothers and younger ones visited while watching the younger ones play games. The scenery was breathtaking, the weather was chilly, the fellowship was tremendous, and the food delicious!!! The big event of the night was the grand EGG TOSS! Almost everyone participated (young and old). We were only sorry we had to leave so soon! :) Happy Birthday, David. May God continue to bless you with good health, sound mind, and a tender heart to serve the Lord all the days of your life.
That was not such a quick update, but an update nontheless. There is always so much more happening, but at least these are some of the Huber highlights of this week.

Thank you for the update Mrs. Huber. It's so good to hear what you all have been up to lately. Tell Nikkae we're praying for her, and I do hope these bites clear up very soon!
blessings,
Jennifer

Hey everyone!
I FINALLY got the opportunity to use "modern technology"... the computer :) Thanks for all your prayers and support. I am learning lots and having a blast in the mean time. Not everything has been easy but I can't begin to express how wonderful it's been...can't believe it's almost over.
