Benjamin's 8th birthday!

Hold on to your horses. We are entering into bithday mania at the Huber home! Benjamin started us off by turning 8 years old on July 24th.

We had planned to go to the ocean to celebrate but found out that a hurricane was expected to hit on Tues. and bad weather was to continue on throughout the week. So, we went to plan B which was to have a swimming party complete with a decorated deck using balloons and a sign. We then planned for the whole family to play some organized games in the pool including relays, volleyball, basketball, and water balloon toss. Then the rain, wind, and cool weather came so we went to plan C. Of course plan C was not near as fun as the others but we did decorate and had a wonderful time celebrating indoors. Benjamin had requested a "dirt cake" which is pretty much just chocolate pudding in a flower pot or dish and oreo cookies crushed on top to look like dirt. Then, to make the "cake" complete, some gummy worms are strategically placed to come out of the top :)

Benjamin was our "baby" when we moved to Texas six years ago so he has only known Texas as his home. We have definitely seen him grow and mature this last year and are very proud of how he loves his baby brother. He gets up every morning coming in our room wanting to take care of little Justin and take him down to feed him breakfast. How precious it is that even after almost 2 years he still delights in spending time with Justin. Benjamin has also become inseparable with Brenton. They are the best of buddies and rarely (seriously) will you find one without the other!

Benjamin not only celebrated his 8th birthday but was recently baptized to show publically his faith and trust in Jesus his Saviour. What a blessing to see him desire to be obedient to God in baptism and want to live for Christ.

Benjamin, you are definitely a blessing to all of us and we love you! Our prayer for you is that you will keep your tender heart and forgiving spirit all the days of your life. Trust in the Lord with ALL your heart and lean not unto your own understanding but in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths!!
We are truly blessed that God would entrust your precious life to us!!!!

    Happy 8th Birthday, Benjamin!!
It's been so long since you've seen my family so you probably don't remember me but I thought I'd wish you a wonderfully blessed birthday all the same. :-)
    God bless!!

    In Christ Alone,
