Happy New Year!
It doesn't seem possible that we're in 2008 already. Time truly is a vapor that is here for a little while and then vanishes away. So, though we shouldn't wait till the first of every year to reflect, it is a good reminder to do so at least once every 365 days. Here are some good questions to start asking yourself:
~ What did I accomplish for God's kingdom?
~ Was He pleased with the steps of growth in my inner man?...small though they may be.
~ How many times did I share of God's amazing grace with those who don't know the truth of His salvation?
~ Did I minister to Christ by touching the lives of His saints?
I think I'll stop there...the list is rather convicting! But don't forget to take inventory and make the changes the Lord would have you make. What are we here for if not to glorify Him?
A blog is kind of like a journal and that is what I hope to do this year...keep up with the Huber family site. This post is of a few goings on in the past week.
Baby "Cuteness" ~
2007 marked the first birthday of our little baby who is getting rather independent...not so much into the baby thing. "Don't cuddle me", "let me do it myself", "I know I'm irresistibly cute but there's only so many kisses a body can take". Such are the phrases I can only imagine go through Justin's mind on a daily basis. This picture was taken after he received a little monkey backpack...we think they resemble each other :)
PAIN ~
Most folks talk about the activity of paint ball and think "fun". Only one word enters my mind..."pain"! Now, I've never played it before, so it's probably unfair to judge of it's entertaining powers but I'm not sure if that "inexperience" will ever be corrected. Brandon, Anthony and Jonathan tried their hand at an afternoon of paintball war for the first time last week. Katherine drove them out to the Bakke's house where they enjoyed the day blasting away. I think Anthony was rather brave to "fight" with a broken leg, being as he can't run away from his enemies! They came home happy and ready for round two...so it must have been a pleasant kind of pain :)
History ~
Monday found Dad and me journeying along the "mission trail" in downtown San Antonio. Many folks know about the famous Alamo but what you might not know (if you don't live here) is that there is a string of five other missions that were founded around the same time and for the same reasons. Catholic missionary priests were sent by the government of Spain to convert the south Texas Indians and develop a Spanish culture here. One of the missions is just a pile of rubble while the others have been somewhat restored and are currently open to the public and used as parish churches. The beautiful architecture is exquisite! To think that the stone masons and craftsmen did everything by hand is truly amazing! It was my Christmas present from Dad to spend the day with him sight seeing. After eating breakfast with Brandon, Dad and I headed out for the day. The memories were sweet and the learning experience was marvelous...thanks Dad!
New Year's Day ~
Yesterday we went to the Clark's home for fun, food, fellowship and football! The Rose Bowl was on...unfortunately, our team lost! But the day was full of felicity none the less. Activities (besides watching football) included, playing football, volleyball, four on a couch, running pictionary, lots of talking, amazing food, and much laughter...which is my favorite of all! We enjoyed the day catching up with old friends (the Clarks, their grandparents and uncle) and making new ones (the Tuuk family). What a joy it is to be in the body of Christ where the fellowship is uplifting and the smiles on each face reflect the inner peace that comes only from Christ!

Two posts in such a short amount of time, I am impressed. Great work! The Rose Bowl was a disappointment, Florida & Michigan was the game to watch. Have a great 2008!

HAPPY NEW YEAR HUBERS!
WOW! Another post already? Thanks for keeping us updated! :)
The paint ball pic's look fun! It'd be fun to have a game or two while you guys are up here, but then, it might be too cold for the co2. :/ Way to go Ant! It's best to engage the enemy and not run away anyways. So maybe the cast was actually a blessing? :)
Thanks again for the update, and blessings on the new year!
