The Daily Things We Do...

Each day holds its adventures & "magical" moments. The following photos capture some of the things you would find if you happen to "drop in" on us here at home. We don't get many of those kinds of visits living so far out here in the country, but we'll just pretend you're here for a visit this once :)

P.S. I apologize for the pictures that aren't clear...alas it's called, lots of people playing with the new camera :)

Justin helping with dishes

Yard up keep that comes from having animals...no more specifics

Rounding up Cows

Never too young to start 'em on cleaning

Practice makes perfect

Doesn't she make a lovely bride?

Big brother "wanna be's"

"I love Football"

Here kitty, kitty

"It doesn't get much better than this"

How do these work again?

Hmmm...what could be so interesting?

Climbing trees

Isn't this fun?!

Preparing the minds of tomorrow's Einsteins

And learning some "practical" skills

Say "cheese"

These last two aren't of our current "everyday life" but in the fall semester...this is much of what we do...attend football games :)

Wedding Post at Last!!!

My apologies for the delay...Now as promised, here are photos of Nathan and Rebecca's wedding in May of 2007. It was a lovely celebration of two lives being joined...the rain outside by no means dictated the feelings that swelled within the hearts of two individuals and their families that day. God has truly given our world a unique gift in marriage...may all Christians joined in such union, strive to model the pure and holy picture of Christ and His church in their marriages.

We love you Nathan and Rebecca! May you ever grow closer to each other as you draw nigh unto Christ!

Staying Busy...

Our weeks seem so full these days and fly by in a hurry! The Lord is teaching us many things and we marvel at His faithfulness in each lesson He brings in our path.

Last week brought Emma and baby Sebastien Valine to our house for an overnight visit while Micah was away on business. We enjoyed getting to know them better, knitting, watching a "girlie" movie, cooking, talking, & observing the kiddos as they played with the animals outside. We took some cute pictures but unfortunately they were accidentally deleted before being loaded onto the computer :( It was a lovely visit and we look forward to the "next time"!

This week was also filled with political activities :) I spent a little time at the office of Nathan Macias (who is running for State Rep.) and the eldest five of us went to a fund raising dinner Friday and block walked most the day on Saturday! If you've never worked for a campaign, you really should roll your sleeves up and try it sometime. Of course, part of the battle is finding worthy candidates to support! Block walking gives you the experience of all sorts of communication skills...some pleasant and others not so much :) All in all, it's great memories with friends and done for a wonderful cause. By the way, don't forget to pray as the Presidential race continues too! We pray that God will have mercy on our country and give us a godly leader. So far, our vote remains the same (Huckabee) as we continue to research the differences between the candidates.

The little ones in our house are still fighting illness. Just as we thought they were on the mend, the "bug" seems to have hit them once again! I took some sweet photos of Kaylianna, Christian and Justin but those were deleted off the camera as well...bummer!

Family pics are scheduled for tomorrow! It will be the first ones with our newest additions...Justin and Rebecca! Pray for us :) What a huge task it is to get 15 people all looking at a camera, let alone with smiles on every face.

That's it for now...more soon!

A Night to Remember

The holiday season is past and we have entered into more of a "normal" routine of the usual occurances that happen in an average school day. Well, something had to "spice" things up a bit...a party is always a good way to do so and a party it was! Football being the theme but the Lord was at the center, last evening was spent praising our guys for their effort, character, discipline and teamwork. The F.E.A.S.T. Patriot's football team is a sport's team that does more than just instill the love of "the greatest game on earth" (as one of the guys put it last night) but it also gives spiritual discipleship, camaraderie, and some positive "peer pressure" :)

Thank goodness neither of my football playing brothers are seniors yet...they grow too fast as it is! It was a joy to watch them play this year. The Lord had some hard things for both Brandon and Anthony during the season but it was a blessing to see them take each trial and be at peace with God's plan even when it wasn't what they had in mind. Injuries are definitely confining, especially to young men who want to strive for excllence in their skills...but they were content and I know that the Lord was pleased.

Jonathan was hailed as the best manager of the team ever. His hard work to keep things running in ways big and small allowed more freedom for the coaches to do their thing without having to worry about some of the details during practice and the games...way to go Jonathan!

Of course, stat keeping is a big part of the whole picture as well...Dad and Katherine kept those sheets so organized and accurate so the reviews of the season could be shared last night and also after every game, players can learn from their triumphs as well as defeat and become better players.

I would be amiss not to mention the amazing community that football involves...the friendships made have been and will continue to be a blessing to our entire family! God has truly blessed us with this activity that gives us more than a game!

Here are a few moments that were captured on camera last evening...enjoy!
