Once upon a time...

There lived a little girl with a dream. This dream was like most other dreams...Not very likely to happen. But like most dreamers, this little girl had a heart full of faith as she prayed for her desire earnestly. Because she was very small, her wish was bigger than herself but she desired to someday use this dream to glorify her Lord. The little dreamer began to save every penny she found or earned. Yet, it seemed that no matter how hard she tried, the glass jar she kept would never be filled. Time passed and the little girl grew and kept on being diligent with the "small" tasks given her so that she would one day be worthy of a "bigger" responsibility. God heard the prayers of His little child and performed a miracle!

Pictures

Here's a few pictures that Jonathan took with the video camera during our Christmas Eve dinner and service. As you can probably guess, the girl sitting next to Nathan is Rebecca...Our soon to be sis for those of you who haven't seen her yet. I was thinking the other day that although outnumbered now (8 boys and 4 girls) when it's all said and done and if we all get married, the numbers will be even...Thanks Rebecca for giving us a start :)

"It's the most wonderful time of the year..."

Merry Christmas everybody! Yes, it's finally here. Unfortunately that means the season is just about over and done. Everything will soon jump back to normal as the world and all those in it start a fresh with the new year. Today was a lovely Christmas Eve that was full of memories. We shared a brunch meal with our Church family (those that are in town that is) and Nathan and Rebecca. There was so much food to enjoy and of course the fellowship was sweet. After everyone filled their bellies we headed into the living room to read various Scripture passages about the prophesy of Christ's birth in the Old Testament and His coming in the New. We also accomplished singing a large part of the Christmas section in the hymnal. After the service broke up there was time for more fellowship and games. After everyone left we exchanged gifts with Nathan and Rebecca since they will not be here tomorrow then...Time to eat again. We enjoyed a traditional south Texas Christmas Eve dinner...Tamales!

Sadly, Nathan and Rebecca's time for departure came. Those of us left did our Christmas Eve tradition...Watching "It's A Wonderful Life" sipping hot cocoa. I just finished filling stockings and now it's time for bed. I'm so grateful it was overcast and chilly today giving us a little feel of Christmas back home.

Sending our love to our precious long distance friends and family whom we miss very dearly. May God bless and keep you all in His loving care. Enjoy a wonderful day tomorrow rejoicing in the miraculous birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

P.S. Sorry there isn't any pictures of today with this post...We don't have a digital camera yet so it's not so easy to post photos fast :)

Happy belated Birthday...No I didn't forget!

I'm so glad Anthony isn't holding my neglect of him against me. Wow, his birthday came and went and in this crazy season, we didn't have a party. Anthony did get to have a day out with Mom shopping for new clothes...And boy does he look sharp these days!

December 3rd 1991 was the day that Anthony entered the world. I remember it all so well. I wanted him to be my baby so I passed him to others only when I had to. I always sang the song my great-grandmother taught me when I rocked him to sleep.

Anthony's childhood was full of smiles. His joyfulness was contagious! Even when he was hurt, Anthony would find something to laugh about in the midst of his pain. What a reminder it was to us all to focus on the bright side of every situation :)

Now my "little" brother isn't so little anymore. Now he speaks of his dreams and the goals he has for his life. Now he looks more like a man than a little boy but I'm so glad he still wears his handsome and contagious smile.

We love you Anthony! HAPPY 15th BIRTHDAY! May God bless and keep you all your days as you seek first His Kingdom. Serve Him with a whole heart and He will fill your life to overflowing.
