Some ridiculous photos from comic moments

OK, so we got carried away and needed some laughs. We are positive you will laugh too...In fact you might get scared and see a side of us you never knew existed! We are interested in some votes as to what picture made you laugh the hardest or gave you the most amusement. It took a lot of "pride swallowing" to post the following peek into our dinner table amusement tonight. The extra gals are Megan C. And Anna V. (friends from Illinois).

Laughter is the sweetest medicine to the soul! Even if ridiculous behavior is the cost :)

Celebrating 25 Years of God's Goodness

We pulled it off! After several weeks of planning, keeping our mouths shut and lots of prayer, dad and mom were successfully surprised for their 25th wedding anniversary party! Thursday, Mr. And Mrs. Schmidt took Mom and Dad out for the day. Supposedly they were out for Mrs. Schmidt's birthday surprise. The Schmidt children stayed behind with us to accomplish the mission of overhauling the house and setting up/cooking for the evenings festivities in only six hours! We were expecting over one hundred guests and our home was a wreck! In the afternoon several more helping hands arrived (Tonya, Noelle, Grace, Aimee, Diana and Regina Hawley and Esther a friend from Korea). The mad rush to complete the impossible was underway and six o'clock came way too soon! Our guests arrived around six and the transportation that held the unsuspecting couple came shortly after (How the Schmidts kept mom and dad out all day I'll never know). Everyone "hid" in the backyard and as mom and dad strolled around the corner "SURPRISE" was yelled out! Imagine looking at over a hundred people "sitting" on your porch! I still can't believe they didn't figure it out. The evening was filled with yummy food, wonderful fellowship, singing, a round of "the newly wed game" (participants were drawn from a jar: The Horns, Goforths, Seargeants and Jacksons). The evening was concluded with a short film with photographs of mom and dad from childhood till now and a time for folks to give testimony of how the Lord has blessed them through mom and dad's life. It was such a blessing to witness the love that so many others have for our parents. Tomorrow is the actual date for the big day but we sure had fun celebrating it last week. A special thanks to all those that helped me make this whole event possible! To list all the names and the ways they helped would be impossible. Your support and love was a tremendous blessing. Another special thanks to all those who contributed to the vacation fund for mom and dad...I have great hopes of a fun trip for them!

Easter Tradition...Rice Crispy Bird Nests

Friday, April 07, 2006

It's a 1st!

Today marks the one year anniversary of Christian Valor's birth. We won't do the traditional post with pictures and all because we are waiting to celebrate Christian's birthday when the rest of the family comes home...Sorry Christian, no cake today. Anyway, we hope to post pictures of his birthday bash at the end of next week.
Sometimes I wonder how we ever enjoyed life before we met the ones we love. I thought on this as I reflected on Christian's life and realized we've only enjoyed him for one year! I'm not quite sure how we managed before, but we absolutely love his precious smile with those little teeth now!
"Happy Birthday Christian Valor...We all love you sooooooo much :)"

Milking 101

The next couple days are going to be interesting. You probably already know that Anthony and Jonathan do most of the animal chores around here. When they leave, Brandon and Kristalyn are pretty good at taking over. So what happens when they all go away at once? We might have a disaster on our hands! Dad and I had a little "talent test" tonight...You know, who could actually get the milk in the bucket and not take two hours. Dad did great! Me? Let's just say that you would have thought me a professional comedian by the way Jonathan was laughing as he looked on. Dad took the front utters, while I positioned myself in the back, a bit scary! The dreaded thing happened. I was assured by the "experts" that such problem would not occur. Ruby must be annoyed with amateur's. Dad got his job done efficiently while I had to get help from him and Jonny. We finally finished! Thanks guys for patiently spending some time tonight teaching us what to do. When they leave tomorrow morning...Um...Hopefully the work will get done properly?

Mom, Anthony, Jonathan, Kristalyn and Christian are heading out tomorrow for some place in Texas (about four hours away). They will be riding with Tonya Roberts and her three kids who are visiting grandparents. The members of our family are joining them to check out a dairy farm. They will be gone for a couple of days. You always have to be looking for those special times of learning!

Nathan, Katherine and Brandon are heading out to Alabama tonight. They just left, it's around 11:00 p.m. or so. We made a pot of coffee, so Nate could stay awake. The guys are dropping of Katherine off at the Linton's house to help out while they go to work at our Uncle's house. I think a week is what the plan is for their trip.

That's what's new around here...Literally, these plans were finalized sometime this afternoon. Good reminder to be flexible :) I wonder what the rest of us will do...We know to set aside a huge block of time for milking, especially if Dad doesn't make it home in time from work tomorrow night!

April Fool's Day

OK, so today isn't a Big holiday but it is a holiday none the less so we are wishing all of our readers a "Happy April Fool's Day"! I personally like to celebrate any holiday one possibly can...No, we didn't do anything "special" but it's still nice to know it is was "holiday" anyway :) Perhaps some of you might want to comment on how you were fooled or how you fooled someone else today. There must be some great stories floating around.
